Dear Members,

As of March 1st, the Sign Association of Canada has begun the transition over to a new management model to better position us for the future.

As our industry continues to evolve, so too must the way we operate as an association. After careful consideration and a thorough review process, the Board of Directors has made the decision to transition from a self-staffed model to a partnership with a professional Association Management Company, Association Concepts Inc. (ACI). This shift represents a natural and thoughtful evolution—one that will enhance our ability to respond to changing industry dynamics while delivering the value, consistency, and support, you, our members deserve.

There were extensive criteria that a management company needed to bring to SAC for this decision to be the right one. ACI brings a depth of experience in managing member-driven organizations, with strengths in governance support, operational excellence, communications, and member engagement. ACI’s team-based approach will not only ensure continuity and scalability to support the existing needs of our members, but also allow us access to specialized expertise that will strengthen our programs, services, and long-term sustainability.

Most importantly, this transition builds on a strong foundation. We want to express our sincere appreciation to our current Executive Director, Karin Eaton, for her leadership, dedication, and the significant contributions she has made to the association. Her hard work has helped guide us to the strong and successful position we are in today, and this next step is a reflection of that success—and we owe her a great deal of recognition for that solid foundation.

Under the ACI model, members can expect:

  • Continued delivery of existing programs and services without interruption
  • Enhanced operational efficiency and responsiveness
  • Expanded capacity to develop new initiatives and member value
  • Professional support across communications, events, membership, and governance

This is not simply a change in structure—it is a strategic step forward. By adopting this model, we are ensuring that the association remains agile, resilient, and well-equipped to serve you in an increasingly complex and competitive environment.

We are excited about what this next chapter holds and are confident that this evolution will strengthen our community and the value we provide to each of you.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement.

Sincerely,

Erik Houde
President
