On July 18, 2017, Vancouver City Council approved the City’s new Sign By-law and Sign Fee By-law. Both documents are available on-line at http://vancouver.ca/your-government/sign-bylaw-update.aspx.
The new Sign By-law is scheduled to come into effect on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, while the new Sign Fee By-law will take effect January 1, 2018.
The City will therefore be accepting applications under the new By-law as of Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Any in-stream applications will also be processed under the new Sign By-law as of Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
The existing fee and fee structure in Section 13 of the Sign By-law 6510 will remain in place until December 31, 2017, prior to the new Sign Fee By-law coming into force.
